German Film Festival: "Kino beyond the Wall"
As Polyglot goes to press, the annual Carnegie Mellon University Annual Film Festival is about to launch. Established in 1999 by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to promote films from a large variety of topics and genres, this year's festival focuses on German film. Entitled "Kino Beyond the Wall: The Cinema of Contemporary Germany," this year's festival will focus entirely on German-language film (all of the films will be subtitled in English). The entire festival is organized, managed, and executed by Carnegie Mellon University students. The festival is made possible through the generous support of sponsors and is coordinated this year by Professor Stephen Brockmann of the Department of Modern Languages. The 2002 Film Festival will take place April 25-28 on the Carnegie Mellon Campus.
